Reminder from a pastor...
Reminder from a pastor...

Instant Reminders

In 2014, we added this Section to help those truth seekers who are still deeply entrapped by the world system. They seek instant and short reminders just like instant coffee in the morning to help start the day. In this Section, we just give short and sweet reminders from the Scripture concerning various issues in life. We are living in an era where the deception schemes of the world system are so sophisticated that we are easily being misled. For example, news disseminated through the major news media are already filtered and biased that we are easily mis-fed and misled. It is wrong to assume that only unbelievers are misled. Believers may also be misled if they forget to heed the warning by our Lord. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation."(Luke 22:46) or " Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation." (Matthew 26:41f). One of the key reasons of adding this web page is to remind believers  that we should enjoy many precious promises from our Lord Jesus Christ such as love. peace, and joy in our daily lives even among many tribulations we will surely  encounter in this world.

Reminder 1

Are you a believer of Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord?  Do you have a personal relationship with Him or just go through the motion in your head knowledge only but never truly love Him in your heart? Do you really know Him and seek for His help many instants daily? Or are still running your life as your own without the guidance of the indwelling Holy Spirit? Do you just think yourself as a Christian but do not live your day as a Christian? For example, a person can go to church on Sunday but live without Jesus Christ from Monday to Saturday. How can a person say that he loves Jesus Christ on sundays only and be a Christian? If we do not have a personal intimate relationship with our Lord, how can we enjoy all the riches and peace and joy in Christ Jesus?  The Scripture reminds us the following:

Colossians 1:15-19
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18 He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything. 19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

John 14:27
27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Reminder 2:

You can not treat Christian belief as another add-on credential in your life such as another membership in organizations you belong to. You can not love the world and the Father just a wife can not say that she loves her husband and another man at the same time. How can you say that you are a Christian but you do not love and upheld the teaching of the Holy Scripture?

Reminder 3:

How can a person say that he/she is a believer but  loves sin more than  loves Jesus Christ who died for him/her to redeem him/her from sin. The Scripture did not say that we are or will be perfect in this life in holiness  as a believer. On the contrary, we, as a believer, will be even more sensitive in  struggling against sin  after we became a Christian. So as a believer, we will strive for holiness but may fail from time to time, but we will repent and really sorry that we sinned against a holy God who loves us dearly and will forgive us again because of Jesus Christ our Lord. It is the sanctified life that we are truly dependent on Jesus Christ our Lord to help us grow in His likeness.

Reminder 4:

You can not become a Christian by claiming your knowledge of the Bible or your deeds in attending church or doing good work. You can only become a Christian by your faith in Jesus Christ for who He is and what He did in The Cross for you. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast." ( Ephesians 2:8-9)  This simply means that by your new nature, you will not be happy in  indulging "in the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes, and the boasting of what he has and does" (1 John 2:16)

Reminder 5

Reminder 5
What are the attributes of a Christian Life? One key aspect of it is the adoration and praising  our Lord Jesus Christ for what He did in the past; and what he is doing now; and what He will do  in future for us individually and collectively. Through the events in our lives, we truly recognize His preciousness in our eternal blessings including that by God's love to us, He has become for us wisdom from God--that is , our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.(1 Corinthians 1: 30) So one key aspect of Christian Life is among events in our daily living, praise  Him for His love, for His provision, protection, and for kindness and fellowship in our weaknesses,…….. God promises us that as we fix our eyes on Jesus Christ's glory, we will be transformed into His likeness from one level of glory onto ever-increasing glory. (2 Corinthians 3:18)

Reminder 6

Another aspect of Christian Life is the conflicts and the choice between loving Christ and loving self in our daily encounters. Our Lord graciously encourages us to self denial and carry our cross and follow Him. Open your eyes and watch the world carefully. You will certainly see two life styles: one pursuing self-love in gaining wealth, power, lust, and fame; and the other seeking self-denial to love Jesus Christ our Lord. In other word, there are two ways of living; one without God, and one with God.

Do you know that Jesus Christ warns the true seekers  with the following reminder:

Matthew 7:13-14
The Narrow and Wide Gates
13 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. 14 For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.
